It wouldn’t be home without a place for our prayers and good wishes for loved ones. Please add those you wish to be remembered, during good times and bad, as a reply.
It is not possible to put a candle in replies, so the ones at the top of this page will
continually cast their glow on all who enter here and on all who are remembered here.
Prayers and best wishes for Kerri’s husband, Pete.
May the sun shine warmly on you and yours.

Kerri, I’m thinking of you & your husband during these times. (I did try to copy & paste the candle, but I now see Sarah’s comment about that.) Take care.

Since 9-19-17 things have changed for Rose and her family. Her cancer battle was short-lived. Let’s remember Rose’s family in prayer as they adapt to life without her.

Prayers for all who are being deluged with grief in one way or another. I think of the hurricanes, the fires, the
flooding, the mass shootings,
and send prayers and good wishes to all who have suffered through them.

Wendy needs your prayers
I heard from Wendy just a few moments ago. She has fallen and cracked her knee cap.
She is badly bruised and has a lateral crack on the kneecap. At first, they thought it would heal on its own provided the bones did not move and misalign . Now a week later, she saw the orthopedic surgeon again and he says she needs surgery to stabilize the kneecap because the bones moved. They want to insert pins into the area. She has another consultation next week as pre-op to the surgery. She is seeking a second opinion. She also sprained her right arm and has bruises all over it.
Please remember her in your prayers and send your very best vibes her way.

Please pray for Kallie, and do whatever you can to brighten her holidays, and her time in the nursing facility.
Kallie’s husband, Paul, (known as Phishgod at the Pub) gave me an update and it is not the best of news. Kallie is temporarily back in the nursing facility because she has lost mobility.
An excerpt from his note:
” Kallie wanted me to email you & let you know she hasn’t been
Online & pojo-ing with you because she is back in the nursing home,
& has been for about the last three weeks or so……
Her lymphedema and some related medical problems made it progressively harder to get up and move to & from her chair(to) wheelchair or even enough to stand a little– because she lost feeling & movement in her strong leg.
….She may be there for an extended period of time, so it may be sometime before she is back on line.
…She wanted me to let you know that she misses her poet friends and to wish you all the best for the holidays.

Happy holidays to you, yours and to all her poet friends!”
It really breaks my heart that our jazzy-girl Kallie is spending the holidays
in a medical facility. I know she would rather be home. It would brighten
her day immensely if everyone would send her a card from time to time.
Lets do our Pub thing and make her Christmas as bright and cheerful as
possible.

New Room # for Kallie…
Let’s make our goal this week to be sure that Kallie gets a record number of cards to bring more sunshine into her room. See below for links to her work. Knowing that
her work is being read would be a huge boost to her spirits, even if you don’t know
her personally. Her address follows:
Same place, different room:
Kallima Hamilton
Medi-Lodge of Okemos,
Room 121-1
5211 Marsh Rd,
Okemos, MI 48864
She loves getting cards…so all of you poets and writers
can really brighten her day by letting her know you
are thinking of her.
For those of you who have not read her poetry,
Here are a couple of links:

Even if you don’t know Kallie, it would really
make her day to get a card mentioning that you read her
poetry at The Peaceful Pub. Putting a smile in the heart
of one who is suffering a devastating illness is a great way
to make this world a better place.
