Last month, I received news that one of my new poems was going to be published in the speculative fiction magazine called “Eternal Haunted Summer”. This Journal specializes in poetry dealing with myth, folklore, fantasy and odes to Gods and Goddesses from Greek, Norse and other various forms of literature. The Winter issue is celebrating the myths and mysterious cultural traditions from The Americas. My poem “The Water Witch” is featured there right now. I have always been fascinated by the Appalachian culture; its music, craft-making and folkloric ways and magic. One aspect of this culture is the practice of water divining or dowsing, finding water through the old ways of using the sacred wood of willow or ash as well as using a river, stream or pond as a mirror to read the future. Besides this clairvoyant connection to water, this woman was noted for her ability to heal and also serve as a midwife to the mountain communities.
Here is a link to my poem and the magazine if you would like to read it.
Take care everyone
