A New Poem Published

Last month,  I received news that one of my new poems was going to be published in the speculative fiction magazine called “Eternal Haunted Summer”. This Journal specializes in poetry dealing with myth, folklore, fantasy and odes to Gods and Goddesses from Greek, Norse and other various forms of literature. The Winter issue is celebrating the myths and mysterious cultural traditions from The Americas.  My poem “The Water Witch” is featured there right now. I have always been fascinated by the  Appalachian culture; its music, craft-making and folkloric ways and magic. One aspect of this culture is the practice of water divining or dowsing, finding water through the old ways of using the sacred wood of willow or ash as well as using a river, stream or pond as a mirror to read the future. Besides this clairvoyant connection to water, this woman was  noted for her ability to heal and also serve as a midwife to the mountain communities.

Here is a link to my poem and the magazine if you would like to read it.

The Water Witch

Take care everyone

my best.

  1. Hi Sarah

When posting this news, I did click “the message center” option but it ended up here somehow in the main forum. Please feel free to move this to the correct area. Honestly, my browser is going crazy today.

    Thanks so much!

  2. The water witch sounds like a soul that is very connected to nature and everything around her. She also seems to respect nature a great deal which we all should do. Nature is very wise. Great poem and congratulations on being published!

  4. Congratulations!! Wendy,

You are deserving of all accolades and recognitions.
    You make us proud!!

    And the poem…Yes!!

The downside is, this picture is 300 X 200. It must be 500 X 500…

All you have to do is put 500 in the pixel size area, after you have made the picture square

    • Dear Sarah

Your kind words are deeply cherished! Thanks so much for reading and commenting. I did resize the pic to about
      500 x 500 using paint.

      again thank you,

  5. Hi Kerri
