Sunday Peace

As sweet
as sugar in a dish
you are.

Calming, credible,
reassuring, and reliable
you are.

A steady and strong
verse and chorus blend
hailing harmony in
forever’s love song.

I get to hang my hat
with you in this life. I do.
What remarkable peace.
You are a breath of ease.

How fond I am
of the day’s glow.
Brightening rays
partner with winds in
backyard’s tall pines
while light dances
from a trio of
kitchen candles
clustered on
the stove top.

Warmth outside
collides with warmth
on the inside. Home.
Oh, the reflections
of home sweet home,
a place where love resides.
There’s nothing like this,
sweet, sweet Sunday peace.

  1. Hi Jan

I echo the other sentiments expressed here — this is beautiful and certainly captures fond memories in a home that kindles warmth, love and respect. This is indeed a peaceful poem and one that fills the reader as well with its lovely serenity and mood.

    Thank you for sharing,
    my best

  2. Jan,

Warmth emanates from this happy poem.
It is a joy to spend a minute in your light.
On another note, I cannot believe I am just
now finding this beauty. I have been remiss
    and promise to do better.

    Beautiful lines for Mr.B:

“I get to hang my hat
with you in this life. I do.
    What remarkable peace.
You are a breath of ease.”

Beautiful for and from you too. It says so much
    about how life should be.
