Summer Day – Saturnica

lightly stirring;
temperature outside
rises high, tempting people to remain indoors today.
Temperature inside,
slightly cooling,

This is my second poem in my form I call a Saturnica. Once again, it is intended to represent an edge-on view of the planet Saturn.

Thank you Steve. I actually changed the form from the first one I wrote. It was originally nine lines when I wrote “Sunrise in the Trees” but the two 8-syllable lines made “Saturn” too fat in the middle. So now it’s a seven line form and it will stay that way.

Thank you Sarah. I have another one of these, but I wanted to post Trees II, so I’m holding it for a little while hoping someone else will post some poetry besides me!
