The storm rolls
on bowling balls.

It gutters and strikes
in the alleys and lanes
through 10 frames,
pays and rumbles away.

this is intended as a parody of Carl Sandberg’s Fog, which can be found here:

  1. Hi Michael

What a wonderful way to complement Sandburg’s poem with sound to companion his quieting silence. Love the analogy to bowling. It’s very apt. So Nicely done!

  2. Thank you Wendy. When using another poem is a takeoff point, I try to make my piece stand on its own even while suggesting the connection to the original.
