Dimming in the Day

Oh, Friend, as your steps
move forward, I’m stilled.

As your steps take you afar,
quiet, hopeful, and alarmed
I am. I am. I am.

This is tough.

In my longing and seeking
for peace about all of this,
I search my saddened heart,
which is oddly content,
for that’s where you are,
where you’ve been,
where you’ll be

When there are days
when it’s you I’ll terribly miss,
I will. I will. I’ll remember this.

Will you help me? Oh. Help me.

Yes, remember this. I sense a peace even through sadness because of this – content in the one that has gone and in the one left here to remember. Fine write.
