There’s so much work in becoming something else.  jtl

Unshackled,
unleashed,
unharnessed,
released
forevermore.

Cradled cocoon,
unfettered,
uncurls,
unwraps.

Outstretched wings
fumble, then flap
up higher,
out farther.
A taste of freedom
satisfies

lifting

easing

drifting

coasting

gliding

in
new
heights.

Ah,

becoming tiny
in others’ sight.

Unshackled,
unleashed,
unharnessed,
released

forevermore.

  1. Jan,

I felt myself growing lighter than air as I read these buoyant lines.

Please tell me where you buy your pens.. or is it the ink
that adds such joyful bounce. Whatever it is, it works!

    • Sarah,

Thank you for your words of kindness.

I’m glad these words lifted you. This actually is from one of my old Pub files. When I reread this today, it somehow connected to these times as the academic year winds down & is unraveling for students & teachers. That June freedom is remarkable–surely a memorable time for teachers & students…oh, & for parents, too, who get their kiddos full time for a season.
