Who’s Teaching?

Who’s Teaching?

If I’m teaching you,

and you’re teaching me,

who’s really teaching? Who?

If you’re teaching me,

and I’m teaching you,

who’s imparting knowledge really?

In this circle of learning

day in and day out, with me, with you,

who’s really teaching? Who?

  1. Jan,

Hopefully we are all teachers and all students.
I pray the day never comes when I quit being either.

I also think that the hope of the world is that our children
teach us well with their innocence as we guide them with
    our experience..

I enjoyed your thought provoking poem this morning

    Have a beautiful day.

    • Sarah & Mitch,

Thank you for appreciating this ditty. Sometimes I do sing my short poems, tag them to paper, & share them, as with this one. Teaching young ones (2nd graders) often nudges me to sing—then write—then share. There’s nothing better than to look around our room & view education happening in our moments. We are working with Chromebooks now. I love to see our 7-yr.-old Tool-Time Experts cruising around the room to assist others who are learning how to use the digital tools. Hmm, who’s teaching?

It is indeed a circle of learning, a question that seems endless — but in reflection, We learn from each other, and perhaps, the greatest teacher is silence/observation. Enjoyed this one and gives me much to think about!

    Thanks,
    Wendy
