Weekends
Grateful for times
Sunrise is unshackled
Coffee tastes so much better now
There’s a sweet release from the work week’s leash
Deadlines on the agenda cease
Sip. Want a second cup?
Thankful for gifts

Aren’t they just the sweetest release days for regular-work-week workers? Thanks for reading & commenting. Oh, & here’s a wish for you. Happy Weekend. Jan

Jan,
Great diamante, beautifully done in both message and form.
I can well imagine how precious the little break that you get.
Sipping a cyber cuppa with you now.
Wishing you a beautiful week ahead.

Sarah,
Hey there in the final hours of weekend. (Sad emoji. Sad emoji. haha) Just kidding.
I’m glad you like my simple form. I think this may be a Rictameter w/ its nine lines. I think. (The syllabic counts are 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 with the first & last words the same. It’s a form I enjoy.) It looks very much like a diamante.
Thanks for your visit here. We’re guaranteed a busy week ahead–standardized Springtime testing already. Crazy, huh? Time wears Superman’s cape.

Yes, indeed the beginning of another day is heightened by a sun that not only penetrates the room but also our heart and mind. It cleansed all the week’s debris and lets us breathe in the newness of time and ideas. And the coffee, too, tastes better because we don’t have to sip it on the run to work or elsewhere. The release is needed, a blessed thing that revives us.
So nicely done, this poem!
thank you,
Wendy
