Winter

Winter,
keeper of
springtime green,
you stand guarding
time with pride.

Your defense,
chilling temps
and world in white,
sends one inside.

As snowflakes float
from paled skies,
a hushed
draped season
awaits new birth-

unfolding buds.

bold blooms.

new green.

    Jan,

    Splendid!

I feel those lines, a hush, an anticipation,
a sense of gratitude. This poem meshes
well with the snowflakes dancing outside
    my window…a peaceful joy.

    Thank you!

  2. Thank you, Sarah. It’s raining cats & dogs outside here. A. Soaking. Wet. Friday. Night. It’s snowing hours away from here. Enjoy that white stuff–joys of the winter season.
