Pink Rose

your

sweetness,
pink rose.
Be bold in your
unsurpassed beauty,
for now is your time.
Bask in your loveliness, pink rose.
Be brave as sharp thorns surround you.
Tilt your face toward sunshine,
as your unblemished petals unfold,
glowing like silkened skin.
Your
light
perfume
permeates
April’s air-
invites me to turn
my head to notice you.
You
ask me
to lose
myself
in your
beauty.
How
can
I not,
as you
share
such
sweetness,
pink rose?

  1. Dear Jan, T
To hear the calling of a rose is itself an act of poetry. You are a special one, to be beckoned and gifted by nature herself. Thank you for sharing with us your special moment with her.

  2. Ptc,

A rose calls gently. How a rose sits on the green-leafed throne between thorns amazes me. I will always look twice, maybe three times, or seventeen. ha A rose is a poem. A poem is a rose.
    I suppose.

  3. Jan,

The poem and the photograph have my senses singing.
What a gorgeous shade of pink, and what a perfect time
to celebrate that lovely rose. It warms these winter days
with the essence of sun and beauty.

The attention to detail, the art of the shape, the gentleness
and grace of the message…a perfect basis to begin the day.
Your poem will stay with me throughout and that is another joy.

    Thank you,

    Sarah
