Day and Night by Willowdown and trinimade

Day and Night

you are my sight,

Star that never sets,

Sun of Beauty, Moon of Delight,

I am always in your debt

owing you the gift of life

the power of vision and speech.

Star that burns within my breast

so near, yet out of reach,

could I but touch

the naked flame

could I be content with mortal flesh again

unless by alchemy divine

all the world were thereby imbued with fire

and took on the living nature of your Name?

Day and Night

you are the Lamp

by which I steer my tiny boat –

you are the ocean, the river and fount,

my souls true home and hope.

Night and Day

You mark the paths

Where I must walk

And even if I stray off track

You never fail to bring me back

It matters not how far I roam

Your guiding lights

Will lead me home.

Night and Day

They’ve written songs and poetry

That sing praises to you.

And as I negotiate Life’s turns

There’s one thing that I know

I give thanks for the Light you shed

No matter where I go.

Maryse,

Yes!

“Day and Night

you are the Lamp

by which I steer my tiny boat –

you are the ocean, the river and fount,

my souls true home and hope.”

“You mark the paths

Where I must walk

And even if I stray off track

You never fail to bring me back

It matters not how far I roam

Your guiding lights

Will lead me home.”

It is so good to read a trinimade and Willowdown collab.

I’ve quoted my favorite lines above, but all of it is a song
of gratitude, a celebration of the gifts we’re given. Brava!

Such simple truth in these lines.

Enjoyed reading.
