Small Token

I wanted to give something back to Him,

To thank Him for the things He’s done for me;

This was a burning wish, not just a whim,

And so I pondered on it carefully.

In time the answer became crystal clear,

Although I was not sure just where to start

But I knew if I prayed that He would hear,

And so I offered my imperfect heart.

And I shall be forever in His debt

But I am in good hands no need to fret.

  1. Maryse,

Serene and lovely, just like the poet who wrote it!

My words seem superfluous here. Your poem encapsulates
the joy and peace of being in His hands. Nothing more needs
    to be said…

    except thank you.

  2. Hi Maryse

Nothing can be more beautiful that giving one’s heart and soul to God!! How beautifully you say this along with your firm resolve to completely entrust your life and well being to his blessed hands!

And so I offered my imperfect heart.

A perfect title and a poem that celebrates the spirit and its relationship to Him, our divine Creator! This is uplifting, thank you for sharing it!!

    Take care,
    my best,

  3. I feel that Our Creator loves “when we don’t know where to start”— because at that point, we’re either closer to Him or farther away. I find that the decision is ours about the closeness or not. If it were always His decision, we’d be in his lap like lil’ folks. 🙂 However, He offers choice to those who trust & believe. (Just my take on that spiritual link in living this life.)

    I enjoyed reading your poem.
