Basho, The Complete Haiku (now available)

I had been looking for what I consider the definitive article on haiku and could not find it
until I read of this book and saw Jane Reichhold’s name.  Here’s a link to that article:    Reichhold’s article

Jane Reichhold

(As published in the Autumn, 2000 issue of Frogpond, Journal of the Haiku Society of America.)”

A review of the Basho book can be found at The Edge of Humanity Blog

It is a 431 page book with explanations of the Haiku.  Yes, I ordered it!
(There is a wide assortment of prices but I found it for $17 on Amazon.
..hard back, 1st edition).

A quote from the review:  “Jane Reichhold who is an American haiku poet and translator, dedicated over ten years on the book”.

  1. Sarah, thanks for this information. An older book I have enjoyed is THE ESSENTIAL HAIKU, edited by Robert Hass. Contains versions of Basho, Buson, and Issa.
