No longer anchored by time
a gentle breeze blows.
Light becomes fluid
rides a line of waves.
I will miss each new
turn and tune of universe,
fairies who tend to shoots
of men’s dreams,
the way the laughter
of children lifts.
Quiet rushed in when you left.
Your pen, your paint,
part of the light moved
to a different plane.
Stars opened,
Sang out your name.
Come home. Come home.
Dear Kerri,
Oh so very nice to be reading a Kerri poem this morning, especially
one that touches the heart and soul to the depths as this one does.
“No longer anchored by time
a gentle breeze blows.”
I was captured by these lines at first sight. In fact I awoke with thoughts
of the breeze, and at the very same time you posted this piece of your
most poetic soul, I was posting my thoughts that were traveling the same
gentle paths.
The closing lines swell the heart. Lovely and sad and so comforting.
A poem as moving as this one must surely stem from the pain of loss.
I pray that all is well in your world.

Dear Kerri,
How nice to see a Kerri poem on our blog space! I hope things are going well in your parts of the world. Your words escort a somber mood & a hint of sadness, well-expressed, too, my writing friend. This life, as wondrous as it is, offers emotional climbs, up and down. I’m glad our poems can hammock some of those dips and dives.

Hi Kerri
Such a moving and beautiful poem!! You capture the passing of someone dear, an artist perhaps as well, with reverence and lyrical grace. The imagery is outstanding and these lines touch so deeply —
Quiet rushed in when you left.
Your pen, your paint,
part of the light moved
to a different plane.
Stars opened,
Sang out your name.
Come home. Come home.
Just gorgeous! And I pray , dear friend, that if this is close to home, that you find peace in your faith and the love he or she left behind, the legacy of human beauty and giving.
Thank you for sharing this,
very touched by this,
Wendy
