Best Guest

With a heart
there are specifics.

Appreciate
with all your heart
the natural beats within you
as rhythmic accompaniments
to serve as life’s background
for more important parts.

More important parts?
Yes, we’re told, “It’s complex—
trust it; don’t lose heart.”

Forgive
those small, irksome
or even not-so-small,
annoying disappointments
which arrive as dark cloud covers
interrupting and disturbing your
gorgeous cerulean-blue sky.

Enjoy
life’s opportunistic experiences—
the change-of-heart pathways,
some dead-end roads,
and  the more-challenging seasons,
all influenced by choices that are made.

Remember
your job as a heart’s guard.
The best guest in a heart’s home is Love.
Specifically, we, humans, try to figure this out.
We try daily to clarify the dilemma, this quandary.

Keep it?
And.
Give it away?
Then you have more?

Often this formula is a Rubik’s Cube confusion,
an open and closed door for a heart that is smart.

“I need more specifics for this specificity.”

“Ah, life is the manual. Seasons are the chapters.
Time will assist. Personal legacies are after this.”

    Yes!!

    Jan,

All the diplomats, all the politicians, all the generals can not make peace (even if that were their goal).
It starts inside each of us. There are so many kinds of love, but in the end the principle of love is what
will save this planet and its inhabitants.

“Ah, life is the manual. Seasons are the chapters.
Time will assist. Personal legacies are after this.”

    and yes again.

Much wisdom in these lines. The most basic of principles could solve the most complicated issues.

    • If ever our world needs something it is now. It needs love. The anger displayed in our world is embarrassing & uncalled for in many situations. I feel, too, for the young children as they look for modeled behavior. Look @ the models. Oh, my. I need an emoji here with widened eyes!!! Often I find myself singing/humming the song, “What the World Needs Now…no, not just for one, but for everyone.”
