Never Put out Electrical Fires with Water

Life is simple,
we complicate it
when we would bend it
to our will,

Remember this,
always put the family first
and wear socks
that match your shirt.

Never put a frog
in the teacher’s desk,
unless you’ve already taken the test
and passed.

Never buy a vehicle
that is too heavy to push,
Travel
shouldn’t be a complication,

Go lightly with a clean face,
and always be sure to keep
at least one friend
who doesn’t give advice.

  1. Ah, you had me smiling during the first reading of your lighthearted poem. I smiled more upon the second read. Enjoyed time with your work this evening, Sarah. Take care.

  2. Sound advice and clearly given with a smile on your face. Shame we rarely take notice. Frog in a teacher’s desk, Ahh,that brings back memories, only it wasn’t a frog and the stink lasted all day!

  3. Douglas,

I was indeed smiling when I wrote this one. I had just had a long phone conversation and most every sentence thrown at me began with you shoulda or you coulda.

” Frog in a teacher’s desk, Ahh,that brings back memories, only it wasn’t a frog and the stink lasted all day!”
Well now, for the frog’s sake I’m happy for the teacher’s sake, I’m not so sure. : )
